Our Goal

Our goal is to develop neuro-inspired and neuro-mimicking computational methods that integrate with the brain activity, from the micro (neural) to the macro (behavioral) scale.

This integration encompasses 1) mimicking, 2) explaining and 3) interacting with the brain activity.

Any brain function, as well as any dysfunction, are characterized by an unprecedented intrinsic and phenotypic variability.

Computationally harnessing this variability is the main challenge in our research directions

  • How does the brain compute and learn to achieve the remarkable behavior?
  • When could we computationally approach a brain disease?
  • How could we use computational analytics to precisely target a therapy for a brain disease?

We apply our research on biomimetic and neurorehabilitation robotics.
