Konstantinos Michmizos is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at Rutgers University, an Executive Council Faculty at Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science and affiliated member of the Brain Health Institute and the Center for Computational Biomedicine Imaging and Modeling. From 2013-2017, he was a Research Affiliate at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research, MIT.
Konstantinos has over 70 publications in international journals, book chapters, and conference proceedings, with prominent articles in Brain, IEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering, and IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering.
Before joining Rutgers, Konstantinos has completed two postdoctoral fellowships: From June 2011 to July 2013 he was a postdoctoral research fellow on rehabilitation robotics at Newman Lab for Biomechanics and Human Rehabilitation, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, working with Hermano Igo Krebs and Neville Hogan; From August 2013 since August 2015 he was a postdoctoral fellow on neuroimaging at Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
Konstantinos is originally from Greece where he completed his undergraduate studies in computer engineering and science, at University of Patras, summa cum laude, while working in parallel as an undergraduate researcher for the last three years of his studies.
He holds a Master's degree in biomedical engineering, from McGill University, fortunate to be advised by Henrietta L. Galiana. He has spent 4 wonderful years at the National Technical University of Athens where he earned his PhD degree in electrical and computer engineering, advised by Konstantina Nikita.
